A few day ago several of my photographer friends and I were down at Cape Lookout. Our last stop was on Carrot Island to see the horses. We found this herd and photographed for hours. The light got better late in the afternoon and the horses moved into this dune field. The light showed them to best advantage and a low position with a wide-angle lens gave me the big sky with the great clouds.
As often happens, the end of the trip gave me one of my favorite shots! Maybe it has something with concentrating on shooting almost exclusively for days at a time, and tuning out the usual daily clutter.
I hope you enjoy it,
